Glossary

A list of basic terms. You will come across more words, but these are the ones you need for now.

Balance - Balance is a reference to someone belongs in a Harmony. If Bob and Jake are in a Harmony, then Bob is Jake’s Balance and vice versa.

Caretaker - A member who can manipulate energy strictly to protect a person or The All. Imagine the energy surrounding a person.

Champion - A Caretaker's title once they reach Pure 3.

Consume - Receiving energy from others or The All

Curator - A temporary title. A person who is running a multiperson Ritual or Mass.

Detached - Detached is a member who does not have a Balance and is not in a Harmony.

Defending energy -  This is energy that Caretakers, Guardians, and Champions feed others. This energy surrounds a person, keeping them safe from spiritual harm.

Embrace - A member who is either Detached or Secured and is temporarily part of another Harmony for whatever reason.

Enchanter - A Healer who has reached Pure 2

Energy - This is what we all produce, feed and consume to guide us, aid us and protect us. Everyone’s energy affects everyone else and The All. Energy connects The All and all of us together.

Energy Focus - Most people have one frequency that they feel an affinity to,  or can produce, feed and consume better than other frequencies. Energy Focus can change over time.

Focus - This is different than an energy focus. A focus is where you are feeding your energies to during a Ritual or a Mass. A focus could be a person or a group or The All or a combination thereof. During the Ritual or Mass, a participant will have a picture or an item that reminds the member of that focus touching somewhere on their bare skin.

Feed - Giving energy (whether mending or defending) to others or The All

Frequency (or color) - The effect certain energies have on everyone and The All. There are nine primary frequencies, though there could be more. They can mingle and mix to create Manifestations.

Glory - A legal substance that can be used to aid in reaching your Pure You while performing a Ritual or a Mass. Within the CotUO, it is called “Glory,” but it is a mixture of legal substances that only a few Owners know the combination. It is proven safe, but it is not offered to Tyros. It is also entirely optional. No member is forced to take Glory. Glory is usually in capsule form but can be safely mixed with wine or tea.

Guardian - A Caretaker who has reached Pure 2

Hallowday - Our version of a "holy day." Since there is no such thing as "holy," and there are days that we celebrate as special, we prefer the term "hallow."

Harmonies - Harmonies are spiritual connections that member may have with other members.  A Harmony is similar to what other religions may call marriage, but within The Church of the UO, a Harmony can contain any number of members, of any gender. It does not interfere nor involve the legal definition of marriage.  People may be or may not be legally married but in a Harmony.

Healer - A member who can manipulate energy strictly to heal a person or The All. Imagine the energy entering the body of a person.

Insight Name - This is the name that reflects your Pure You. It comes to you after you have reached Pure 1.  Only this name is used during multi-person Rituals or Masses.

Key Bethel - Key Bethels are places for Masses and group Rituals, a “church.” Key Bethels always contain The Circle and a Sphere of The All. Key Bethels are used only for Mass and Rituals. Often they will have a rest area and lockers for people who need to rest there overnight after a Mass.

Mass - A Mass is done only at Key Bethels and must have more than four members present one of which must be an Owner or a Sovereign or any Pure 2 or higher member.  Masses usually take at least thirty minutes to an hour. They are used to produce or feed very strong, very focused energies to The All or someone in need. Sometimes they are for creating a needed Manifestation.

Manifestation - Sometimes, when a mixture of potent energies combines, it produces a Manifestation. Depending on the Manifestation produced and the energies Darkness or Lightness and other factors, the Manifestation can either be benign or malicious. For example, what people believe are ghosts are nothing more than a Manifestation of a combination of powerful orange, red, purple and blue energies. Manifestations often need a physical component and a particular prayer. Some Manifestations fade on their own, while some others need either a Ritual or a Mass or specific criteria met before it ends. Manifestations are very tricky and can be dangerous, so the details aren’t shared or explored until one reaches Pure 3.

Mending energy - This is energy that all Healers feed to others and The All. This energy enters a person’s Pure You, repairing the spiritual damage that is done to the Pure You.

Midnight - The pause when The Energies reset.  It occurs once a day and at the same time when the earth is darkest where you presently are. This time is 01:34:00 in your present time zone. Because of this pause, all masses, rituals, and prayers must stop by this time. New ones can start at 01:34:01.

No You - You’re not Pure You that you think is your Pure You. Your No You tricks the mind into mixing up your No You and your Pure You. Your No You is what you try to shed when performing a Ritual and a Mass. The less No You you have, the more you are your Pure You and the purer your energies are.

Prayer - These are the short sayings that are repeated during a Ritual and a Mass. Each energy has various prayers, the most popular ones being its consuming and feeding prayers. If many prayers are part of a Ritual or a Mass, then the prayer is repeated alternatively in turn.

Eg. A three person Ritual involves a black feeding prayer, a blue consumption prayer, and a pink feeding prayer. During the Ritual the person using the black energy says her prayer, then the person using the blue energy, then the person using the pink energy. They continue this until the signal for release is given.

Mistakes and even stopping of saying the prayers can happen very easily. Mistakes do not end the Ritual or the Mass. The better a person or group keep the prayers going, the stronger and stronger the energies that are used in conjunction with it.

Produce - Creating energy. Also collecting (consuming) energy, we create it ourselves when we do anything. However, the most potent and purest energy we produce is from the act of sex and orgasm.

Pure 1 (2 or 3) - Levels of reaching your Pure You in the eyes of The All. Going up in levels takes a lot of study, practice, self-questioning, trials, and testing. The higher the level, the less No You you have and the closer you are to your Pure You.

Pure You - Who you are as determined by your contraception and birth. The moment of your birth is the only time you are at your purest Pure You. Your No You comes from outside influences, with energies trying to cover up or hurt your Pure You. We must all be who we are which is our Pure You.

Release - When one orgasms while performing a Ritual or a Mass. Releasing is more than just the orgasm. Releasing also allows one to feed energy to others and The All.

Residual - Energy that isn’t with a person or The All. Residual energy is uncommon because Residuals tend to decay quickly when not connected.

Ritual - This is done alone or with a group of four or less. It can be done with The Circle or without it. They can be very short, ten minutes or last up to an hour.

Owner - A person who runs the Key Bethal. This person (or persons) usually is the leader of the sect.

Sect - A group of members determined by geography. If there is a Key Bethel in the area, then the sect is made up of the people who go to that Key Bethel.

Secured - Secured is a member who does have a Balance and is part of a Harmony

Sphere of The All - This is an item that can be bought to represent The All for Key Bethels. People have been known to own one for their rituals, though it is not needed. We recommend that you do not worry about getting a Sphere of The All unless you are looking to own a Key Bethel.

Soothsayer - A Healer's title who has reached Pure 3

Sovereign - A person who is the leader of a sect or a subgroup of members of a sect, but does not run a Key Bethel. (Usually, this is because there is no Key Bethel in the area.)

Steward - A non-member who is married to a member. They are considered a Balance as well.

The Circle -  This is the set up in all Key Bethels or any Mass done any place other than a Key Bethel. No Sphere of The All is needed in a location that is not a Key Bethel, but a Key Bethel will always have a Sphere of The All.

The Circle is a physical representation of our symbol, so there is a particular set up.

In the center, the Sphere of The All is usually placed on a pedestal on the floor or attached to the ceiling. If there is no Sphere of The All, then a single dim light is placed. The light can either be on the floor or a hanging light fixture.

Around (or under) the Sphere of The All or the light, some pillows are placed.

Surrounding the pillows a row of chairs (two at least) or a couch or some more pillows are arranged to form a diamond pattern.

At one corner of the diamond, an altar or a table is placed.

A circle is represented outside the diamond by placing candles or Christmas lights or a few tables.

The idea is to create a dimly lit, area that resembles our symbol as best as possible, with space to comfortably have sex and a table to place items.

The Circle is not needed for small Rituals for less than three people.

Variant - A member who can manipulate energy for either healing or protection. A Variant can't get more powerful until she/he becomes a Healer or a Caretaker.

Votary - A member in the transition from Healer to Caretaker or vice versa. Sometimes Votaries are referred to as Variants.

"We are all part of The All" - Our saying, and the truth.

First Variant James

"Words are important. Otherwise, how do we know what was said?"
